Nostalgia for violin and piano is composed by Jagnhyun Thomas Kim recalling his own childhood. Thomas, a composer form South Korea, was inspired by the games he played with friends in his country when he was young: Red Light, Green Light (무궁화 꽃이 피었습니다), Hide and Seek (술레잡기), and Whac-A-Mole (두더지 잡기). He wanted to express the tension and happiness he felt while playing those games as a child. The chant of Red Light, Green Light appears as a motif throughout the piece. He wrote this piece in hopes that the audience would travel back in time to their childhood.
